Trust Your Freelance Copywriter - After Some Due
Diligence
Using an outsider to write your marketing
materials makes most people uneasy. Find
out as much as you can before trusting a freelance copywriter
with your white paper or web
copy.
On
this page you'll find out what results to expect when working
with me, the beliefs and values that form the basis for my
working relationships, how I approach copywriting projects, and
what makes me different than other freelance
writers.
Expected Results
When you hire Write Advantage Inc., your writing
projects are completed in a timely
manner. All my projects have been
completed on or before my deadlines. I know that my work is
just a piece of what is going on in your business and that
you've likely planned other tasks around my due date. I respect
that, and if it looks like a due date will be a problem, I'll
let you know as soon as possible.
Your target audience will clearly understand your
message. I'll gather information from
your company, as well as other sources, to be sure I have an
accurate understanding of your audience. The copy you receive
will be written in a style appropriate for your company using
terms and language familiar to your
audience.
To
the extent possible, copy will be delivered ready for you to
use. The writing will be accurate,
professional, and free of typographical and editorial errors.
If there are questions regarding the project,
I'll call attention to them in the transmittal of the
copy. For copy intended to be posted on a web site, I'll
deliver a text file and a Word file so that your webmaster
knows what formatting is intended.
Guiding Beliefs and Values
My
success is measured by your success. If
I deliver a project to you that doesn't meet your needs, then I
haven't done my job. My goal is to establish long term
relationships with my clients. With few exceptions, I've
received repeat business from clients within six months of
completing the first project.
I'll only take on your white paper, web copy, or
other writing project
- If I can meet your
schedule
- If I can meet your budget
- If my expertise is a match for your
needs
Approach
Setting up and working a project with Write
Advantage is easy. I'll help to make
sure the deliverable is well defined, the schedule is set, and
that you know how much you'll need to pay for the project.
After an initial consult over the phone or in person, I'll
draft a scope, deliverable, schedule, estimate, and terms. This
will serve as the work authorization for the project. For
your convenience, you can accept via
email.
I
can work onsite or offsite. I'm
available for in-person meetings if you want or need
them. I'll work independently or as an integral part of
your team. I'll provide you with the full benefit of my
background and training – even if that means I'm delivering
more than my specific scope.
How I'm Different
Most writers say they can write
anything. While that may be true, I
believe that not all writers can write everything well.
So, I really consider my abilities and limitations when
deciding whether or not I'll take on your project. I may
end up telling you that you should look for another freelance
commercial writer.
Unlike many writers, I'm logical and
analytical. I hold an engineering degree
and worked in the nuclear and environmental industries as a
consulting engineer. This background gives me a different
perspective than writers that come from the fine
arts. I see things from a big picture point-of-view. This
makes me see connections and possibilities that other writers
may overlook.
